We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday and recommend a certain level of fitness for multi-day or moderate to difficult hikes in the Countries, as many involve hiking at high altitudes and over steep terrain. A good level of fitness and endurance will help you enjoy the trek, and moving slowly and steadily will help you avoid altitude sickness. We therefore ask that you confirm when booking your trip that you are fit and able to fully participate in all elements of the trek.
The tour with Turat and his son Abdulmazhid was really great! Turat is an experienced driver and the itinerary that we followed was also very good. His son helped Turat on our trip and did that very good, so it was like having two guides for the price of one. Both are speaking good English, so it was easy to communicate with them. The whole journey was not like two guides and two guests, but as a group of four friends. We had a wonderful time and will never forget this time we had together.

Me and my girlfriend took a trip on the Pamir Highway with Tourstans last summer, and we really had a great experience. We visited many remote places, we had tea with some family relatives, we slept in a yurt at 4300m, we went fishing with them and enjoyed local food and yak products every day!
